F1 Car Weight – How much does it weigh?

The FIA 2022 regulations require the car, with the driver but without fuel to weigh no less than 796kgs (down 2Kgs from 2022). This is less than half of a medium SUV (without the driver).

If a team’s car and driver are under the weight limit, they are required to place the additional weight into the car. this is called ballast. The cars and drivers are weight throughout the weekend and a car can be called to the steward’s scales at any time.

F1 Car Weight has lifted gradually from 585kg in 2008.
