How much does and F1 car weigh?

Category: FAQ

The FIA 2022 regulations require the car, with the driver but without fuel to weigh no less than 798kgs. This is less than half of a medium SUV (without the driver).

If a team’s car and driver are under the weight limit, they are required to place additional weight into the car. this is called ballast. The cars and drivers are weight throughout the weekend and a car can be called to the steward’s scales at any time.

The weight has lifted gradually from 585 in 2008.
