G Force, or g‘s, is a measure of Gravity. We are all constantly under 1g of vertical G-Force, this is what sticks us to the earth. 1g equates to your weight so if you expose yourself to 2g that is the equivalent of twice your weight.

Racing drivers, and in particular F1 drivers expose themselves to significant lateral G-Forces under acceleration, braking or cornering. They can also experience extreme G-Forces in an impact.

The human body can sustain very high g‘s for a short period of time, but such exposure should not go unchecked. This is why drivers wear g-force meters within their driving suits.
