Fuel Loads
Fuel Loads : autosport.com

Fuel Loads – Fuel weight is a significant factor in a car’s performance. The car and driver have a minimum combined weight of 796kgs (down 2kg from 2022) and then they add up to 110kg of fuel – or 14% more weight.

As the car’s fuel load reduces, so does the weight, reducing stress on the tyres and increasing speed. During Free practice, teams run a programme of simulations, including low-fuel runs and long runs. This helps to inform the race day strategy, which tyres and when to change.
