If disqualified a driver will not be allowed to start or will have his result wiped from the official record.

The FIA maintain strict technical and sporting regulations to ensure racing is fair and safe. Teams face penalties or disqualification for breaching the rules. Due to the money and competitiveness in F1 it is not common but it does happen.

In Australia 2022 Alex Albon, Williams, was disqualified from qualifying for failing to provide a minimum of one litre of fuel for testing at the end of the session. He was subsequently allowed to race but had to start from the back of the field.
