Clerk of the Course

The clerk of the course is the point of contact between race control and the track workers, informing them of what the race director has decided. This includes the use of flags, deployment of the safety car, stopping the race and dispatching the medical car

He is in constant contact with both the race director and all marshal posts throughout each session.
