Caution is a status the track is placed under during an incident – car stopped on track, debris or a safety system failure. This can be signed by double waved yellow flags, activating a virtual safety car (VSC) or deploying the safety car

Drivers must react immediately and reduce their speed to a predetermined delta. While laps are counted, they are not racing and may not overtake

Once the incident is cleared, the stewards will signal that the caution is ending and race restart rules will apply.
