F1 Brakes : autosport.com

F1 car brakes are similar to normal road cars, only they are made with different materials and operate under considerably higher loads. F1 cars use carbon brake discs and pads along with a hydraulic system.

This braking system is one of the most incredible parts of the cars, requiring very specific operating conditions, like temperatures between 400 – 1,000 degrees C.

The front brakes work directly from foot pressure via a hydraulic brake cylinder while the rear brakes are controlled electronically via BBW (Brake-by-wire).
