A term used to describe when a driver commits to ‘a move’ and then decides better. The same could be said at a corner where he opts for the side road at the last minute. 

He was going down the inside and reaslsing it wasn’t going to stik, he bailed.

As opposed to a bailout which is a reference to a team receiving funds to keep them afloat.
